Search Clemmons Residents Directory

A name, a house number, or an old street can lead to different records in Clemmons. Begin with the county record that fits the question: property files can identify a recorded owner, voter records can confirm public registration details, and library collections can place a household in an earlier period. The Clemmons residents directory gathers those separate routes for family history, civic research, reconnecting, and careful record checking. Each result needs context because a tax card, voter entry, and dated directory line answer different questions.

Find Clemmons Residents by Record

Clemmons is an incorporated village in Forsyth County, and the county seat is Winston-Salem. County offices therefore hold most of the decisive record trail. Tax Administration works with the current parcel and assessment record. The Register of Deeds holds recorded land instruments. The State Board of Elections maintains the public voter-search route. The Village Clerk is the municipal contact for public records, planning material, permits, and code files. The Forsyth County Public Library North Carolina Room supplies the historical layer.

No official source is a complete list of every person at an address. A property record identifies a recorded owner and separates situs from mailing address. A voter result covers a registered voter and lawful public fields. Old directories are dated publications with omissions. Match at least two independent facts before connecting a name with a Clemmons address.

  1. Search the Forsyth property portal by owner, address, REID, or PIN. Keep the situs and mailing addresses separate.
  2. Use the North Carolina voter lookup for public registration, status, and jurisdiction.
  3. Search the Forsyth deed index as both grantor and grantee for a recorded parcel connection.
  4. Ask the North Carolina Room for the right directory year, newspaper index entry, microfilm page, or vertical file for a past household.
  5. Request the named record series from the custodian when the online trail ends. Do not ask an office to create a new resident list.

Note: An address, date range, and document type give a Clemmons custodian a practical starting point for a public-record request.

Clemmons Resident Records Desks

Tax Administration, the Register of Deeds, Elections, the Clerk of Superior Court, and the Village Clerk have different roles. A parcel card is not a deed. A web case summary is not a complete court file. A library directory line is not a certified record. The right office depends on the question and the time period. For a known address, the detailed parcel chain belongs in the Clemmons street directory.

Clemmons Property Roll Searches

Forsyth's official property search accepts Owner/Business Name, Location Address, REID, and PIN. The Tax Parcel Viewer adds Official Address, Parcel Number, Block and Lot, map layers, and spatial selection. Record the parcel identifier, legal description, and both address fields before moving to the deed index. A tax mailing address can be elsewhere. A situs address identifies the parcel, not every person associated with it.

Use the Viewer for parcel geometry, roads, and nearby lot context. Use a recorded deed or plat for legal boundary facts. The county explains that tax-map acreage and dimensions serve assessment purposes and can differ from a deed or recorded plat.

Clemmons Voter Lookup Checks

North Carolina Voter Search is a strong confirmation layer when the person is a registered voter. The official form uses first and last name, with optional middle initial, birth year, county, and status. Public results can show name, public address, party, precinct or district, status, and voting history. They do not reveal ballot choices, full date of birth, Social Security number, identification numbers, or a protected address.

Forsyth Elections is the fallback for a lawful file or correction request. The public name lookup is not a bulk export. Save the date and jurisdiction alongside a result, because registration changes, same names, and confidentiality protection can explain a limited or missing entry.

Check the current official voter lookup before relying on a result.

A voter entry should be tested against another dated Clemmons record rather than used alone.

Clemmons Deed Index Trail

Forsyth's recorded-document search has Standard, Full Text, and Sounds Like modes. It can be narrowed by party type, entity type, date, category, book and page, or file number. Results show date, Code-Book-Page, type, description, reverse party, status, cross-reference, and image availability. Search the current owner as grantee, identify the purchase instrument, then search the former seller as grantee in an earlier period.

The index and deed history reach to county formation in 1849, but real-estate images are generally available from 1973 forward. Older books, microfilm, and counter research remain part of the Forsyth route. Hand-copied 1849-1904 records and typed 1904-1929 books make spelling, abbreviations, and legal descriptions important.

Search tip. Standard and full-text deed searches omit punctuation and special characters, so test name variants and use Sounds Like when a spelling is uncertain.

Clemmons Court Search Details

Clemmons court matters are served in Forsyth County, District 31. The statewide NC eCourts Portal offers Smart Search, party, case-number, citation, attorney, business, location, case-type, status, filing-date, and hearing routes for public case material. Smart Search is the official training recommendation. A public result can show case number, party role, filing or index dates, events, hearings, and disposition.

The web result is not the complete court file. Juvenile, sealed, expunged, adoption, and other protected material stays unavailable. Contact the Clerk through the Forsyth County court directory for a complete, archived, or certified file. A case with a matching name needs other confirming facts.

The portal is a public summary route, while the Clerk is the record-file fallback.

Current Clemmons Resident Directories

Modern Clemmons resident-directory sources are records built for specific purposes. The tax roll tracks parcels and recorded owners. Voter search reflects public registration. The deed index records parties to instruments. A state entity or license search can show a filed or licensed connection, not a home address. Village agendas and boards can contain public civic filings but are not general resident lists.

Clemmons Vital Record Choices

Vital records use separate custodians and rules. Forsyth Register of Deeds issues qualifying local birth, death, and marriage copies and county marriage licenses. North Carolina Vital Records issues state copies. Divorce certificates and complete court files have distinct state and Clerk routes. State coverage summaries list birth from 1913, death from 1930, marriage from 1962, and divorce from 1958. Those dates do not remove entitlement, identity, relationship, or protected-field limits.

Forsyth documents walk-in, mail, and online local routes. State orders have separate forms, payment, identity, and processing rules. For earlier events, use church registers, newspapers, cemetery sources, DigitalNC, the North Carolina Room, and the State Archives as historical evidence rather than a certified copy.

Roll
A list created for a defined public purpose, such as tax administration or voter registration.
Index
A tool that points to a record; it is not always the source image.
Parcel
A defined piece of land tracked with a county identifier, situs, and legal description.
Criss-cross directory
A reverse street guide that can lead from an address to a dated occupant entry.

Clemmons Library History Sources

The Forsyth County Public Library North Carolina Room is the local historical fallback. Its resources include city directories, a five-paper newspaper index, microfilm, photographs, vertical files, local history, and genealogy tools. The named papers are the Winston-Salem Journal, The Sentinel, Union Republican, Winston-Salem Chronicle, and Clemmons Journal. An index hit points to a page or reel and may require staff help or microfilm follow-up.

DigitalNC provides cataloged scans, and Clemmons Historical Society materials add oral-history notes. Forsyth directories focus on Winston-Salem and the county, so rural Clemmons entries may use another community name or be omitted. The detailed collection treatment is on the Clemmons city directory page.

Start with the North Carolina Room collection.

Library sources offer dated household context that current Clemmons portals cannot provide.

Clemmons Address and ZIP Checks

Postal geography, municipal boundaries, tax jurisdiction, and legal parcels do not always match. The primary documented Clemmons ZIP is 27012, but USPS assigns delivery ZIPs to specific street addresses. County GIS supplies map context. A tax record separately reports situs, mailing address, and parcel data. Retain each label in a Clemmons research note instead of forcing them into one location claim.

USPS offers address-to-ZIP, city-and-state-to-ZIP, and cities-by-ZIP searches. The parcel viewer has address and spatial tools but does not advertise a simple ZIP filter. The deed index is keyed by parties, dates, categories, book or file, and legal description. Older directories predate ZIPs entirely.

Clemmons Records Access Fallbacks

When an online entry stops at a summary, go to the office that holds the record. The Register of Deeds counter can assist with older books and indexes. Tax Administration has the parcel and map route. Courthouse public-access computers and the Clerk handle court access under the record's rules. Forsyth Elections handles correction and lawful voter-file questions. The library can locate a directory, microfilm, newspaper, or local-history source.

For municipal files, use the Clemmons public-records form with a date range, department, document type, and known address or parcel. It permits a choice to view records or receive copies. Check its current fee and processing language before submitting.

North Carolina Public Records Law, Chapter 132, provides public access subject to exceptions. It does not require an agency to compile a new report that does not already exist.

Clemmons Custody Record Boundaries

Detention, state-custody, and registry records are separate systems with narrow purposes. The Forsyth Sheriff inmate inquiry concerns county-jail information. North Carolina Department of Adult Correction records cover a different state-custody system. The North Carolina Sex Offender Registry is a statutory public-safety registry, not a general criminal-history index and not a Clemmons residents directory. Read any official result with its stated limits and current status.

Use the North Carolina Sex Offender Registry only for its stated public-safety purpose.

Clemmons residents directory view of North Carolina Sex Offender Registry

Official registry fields should not be turned into claims beyond the status information the registry provides.

Clemmons Public Record Limits

Public access has firm limits. Chapter 132 opens records unless a specific law closes or redacts them. Protected identifiers, sealed court files, juvenile and adoption material, restricted vital details, DMV information, utility-customer lists, and protected voter addresses are not made public just because a related item exists. The Address Confidentiality Program gives eligible participants a substitute address. Trying to reconstruct an actual protected address is inappropriate.

Correct a tax-card error through Tax Administration, voter information through Elections, a deed-index issue through the Register of Deeds, and a court identity problem through the Clerk. A missing result can reflect a restriction, a spelling variant, an alternate custodian, or an archive boundary.

Lawful use. Clemmons records support lawful personal research, family history, civic questions, and record checking. Do not use any result to stalk, harass, intimidate, impersonate, or harm another person.

Historical Clemmons Resident Directories

Forsyth County formed in 1849, and its record systems moved from hand-copied books to typed volumes, microfilm, and computerized indexes. The library has directories from 1898 to the present, plus digitized runs including 1879-80, 1884, 1904-05, 1910, 1920, 1930, 1940, and later Hill's volumes. These are Forsyth and Winston-Salem collections, not a continuous Clemmons-only run.

Clemmons history also carries older place names. The Village traces settlement to Clemmonsville, while DigitalNC holds Clemmons Historical Society interview notes from about 1945-1950. Those records can test an older community or street clue before it is joined to a deed, census, or directory result.

View the Clemmons Historical Society interview-notes record for the cataloged local source.

The Forsyth County inmate inquiry is a separate official custody route.

Clemmons Portal Change Notes

North Carolina eCourts reached all 100 counties on October 13, 2025, so its statewide portal now begins a Forsyth court search. Forsyth's FY27 planning identifies a Tax Parcel Viewer rebuild and related map updates, so live labels and layers can change. The Clemmons OpenGov permitting portal displayed a temporary access message in the August 2026 research review. Use the Village request form for historical address-specific permit or code material while that condition persists.

Forsyth's property-fraud alert and its redaction work are additional safeguards for recorded-document research. Confirm a current field, fee, map layer, or portal procedure with the official source before acting on it.
